It's Spring!
The male Wood Frogs have
awakened from hibernation, and have come to the ponds to wait for the
females. They
will mate and then return to the woodlands, leaving the eggs that
ensure the survival of the species. Predators will feast on
their tadpoles, but many tadpoles will survive to return to the pond in years
to come. |

These Wood Frog eggs are developing rapidly. Watch for
wiggling! The speed of their continuing development is
dependent on the temperature. |
